Java Developer - Application Development
Our client, a leader in Semantic Web 3.0 technology is seeking talented Java Developers. As a Java Developer you must be thoroughly experienced in the creation process of version 1.0 products. Our client's agile development methodology will give you the freedom, responsibility and autonomy to explore new technologies in developing our product solution. You must have a thorough understanding of software development best practices and prior success delivering distributed, internet scale applications. You are constantly learning and looking for ways to improve. Your innovation and creativity means you know that understanding the problem you are solving is as important as the code you are writing.
- Minimum 5-8 years of hard core java development (Javascript doesn't count!)
- Looking to work hard as heavy duty technical, in the trenches, team player and developer and not looking for a lead or management position (may lead to it down the road for the right candidates)
- Previous and proven experience working on products at an Internet company or start-up
- Excellent communicator and able to sell their ideas and concepts to the team
- Looking for individuals that like working with back end systems with minimal user interfaces (i.e. data processing systems) as the platform team doesn't really do any front end work
- Experience with Eclipse and Netbeans as the development environment
- Experience with SVN and subclipse as the source control environment
- Nice to have: Experience with in memory distributed data stores
- Nice to have: Experience working on a scrum team
- Nice to have: Experience with Linux (Ubuntu or Fedora)
- Nice to have: Experience with Cloud Computing environments and deployments
- Some experience with C# and C++ is a great help
